and update your driversIf you are hearing sound distortion or no sound at all in the game, this could likely be caused by a miscommunication in the hardware itself. There are many settings that can complicate the use of sound on your system. To troubleshoot this issue, perform the steps listed below:
Check the volume on your speakers to make sure they are set to an audible level.
Check the connections from your speakers to both the computer and a power source.
Check the volume settings on your computer to make sure they are set to an audible level.
Locate the speaker icon for volume next to the clock on the Windows Taskbar.
Right-click the icon and select Open Volume Control.
Make sure that none of the settings are muted.
You may want to set all the of the sliders to full volume until the issue is resolved (at which point you can adjust the sliders to your personal preferences)
Make sure that you have a sound card not only installed, but recognized by the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
